Rami describes his artwork as “East resists West”

Rami Kanso is a Lebanese-Slovakian graphic & motion designer, and visual artist based in Doha. He currently serves as Team Lead for Graphics & Branding at Alaraby TV. Over the course of his 8 years working for the TV station, Rami executed branding packages for over 12 flagship programs and participated in the rebranding of the entire channel.

Rami balances his work in the broadcasting industry with a passion for creative animation, branding, and poster design. He served as the Head of Visuals for the West End musical production of “Umm Kulthum: The Golden Era” which premiered at the London Palladium in March of 2020. He has also co-produced and co-directed a series of award-winning poetry videos with his wife, Dana Dajani.

In October 2019, Rami’s design for the Lebanese Revolution became a viral icon of the resistance movement. The artwork emphasised the role of the Artist within revolutionary movements. His art can be described as “East resists West”, and his signature style includes the use of calligraphy, collage, texture, typography, and symbolism to express the contemporary Arab identity.
